Should I Spay/Neuter My Puppy?
This is an important decision for you and your family to make! We encourage our families to consider spay or neutering their puppy for all reasons other than breeding. Ask us about breeding rights. Various areas of your new journey may be easier with a spay or neutered puppy. Training, controllability, marking behaviors, libido, and energy levels, are all factors that will typically shift for the better.
In our experience, training a puppy who has been fixed is typically a little more effective and simple. Puppies can be more attentive and more focused during training sessions. Marking, libido, and heat cycles can be elements of your journey that typically are more manageable and controlled when a puppy is fixed. Males can have higher energy levels and be more driven by their natural hormones. Females will have heat cycles that can be messy and cause unpredictable behavior. As most dog owners know, these phenomenon are a species-wide pattern. Bottom of the line, life seems to move a little simpler with a spayed or neutered puppy.
